Overview

The Project Controls Analyst is responsible for the supporting the Vice President of Capital Planning and Facilities Management with the management and analysis of systems and data critical to the efficient operation of the property and execution of capital projects. Responsibilities may include the planning, startup, implementation, training and maintenance of systems and routine analysis and reporting. This position reports to the VP, Capital Planning & Facilities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain a centralized building records inventory including all hard copies and digital files of building plans and construction documents, manuals, procedures and policies, and design standards.
  • Guide the selection, implementation, training and maintenance of a comprehensive digital facilities solution that enables the following functions:
    • Space Planning and Administration
    • Project Management
    • Facilities Maintenance
    • Asset Management
  • Support the project management team by providing project controls analytics for the capital program:
    • Cost & Schedule Forecasting
      • Model and forecast the cost of capital projects, including project expenditures, cost trends, potential risk and associated change order impacts, cash-flow forecasting and historical project financial reports. 
      • Model and forecast the project schedules for the capital program, identifying opportunities for coordination and phasing to create greater efficiency in the execution of capital projects;
    • Cost & Schedule Reporting
      • Provide routine reporting to Project Managers to help the successful delivery of projects on budget and schedule, identifying potential and actual risks and developing mitigation plans;
      • Provide routine reporting to Department Leadership to help identify and manage project risks and escalate critical issues and decisions.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in architecture, engineering, accounting, engineering economics, construction management or related fields
  • Five years professional experience with construction management and project controls
  • Must be able to effectively communicate (oral & written) with all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional problem solving, conceptual, analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong aptitude for details
  • Self-starter with a positive "can do" attitude; a "hands-on" individual who enjoys a challenge and is dedicated to getting the job done with minimal support and direction
  • Strong ability to work effectively and independently within time constraints and changing priorities
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Working experience with FMS, the New York City’s Accounting System for monitoring of budgets only
  • Experience with PMIS, CAFM, IWMS and database management solutions including e-Builder, Oracle P6, FM Systems, Archibus, or similar
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, BIM, and Revit a plus
