  • Overview

    The Systems Administrator will assist in the day to day maintenance & administration of the  Library Server infrastructure & provide support in other areas of Library Technology such as general network troubleshooting. He/She will support the Library's customers and staff as they utilize Library services in relation to its application and management Servers.


    • Installation, configuration and maintenance of Library File, Print, & application based Servers
    • Administration of the Library's Virtual Server environment
    • Administration of the Library's Enterprise Email solution
    • Assist in support of Mobile Device Management
    • Manage application and file data backup
    • Coordinate work with outside vendors
    • Assists in support of Endpoint protection solutions
    • Research, revise, recommend Server & related technology solutions
    • Provide support and guidance to other Information Technology staff
    • May perform physical maintenance and repairs on Servers
    • Implements, monitors,  and recommend best security practices for Server Administration


    Technical knowledge and skills in the following applications and environments:


    • Microsoft windows server operating systems
    • Server virtualization and management using VMware and related tools
    • Enterprise Email solutions such as Office 365, Google G Suite, Microsoft Exchange
    • Data backup software and hardware solutions
    • Task automation and configuration via Scripting tools such PowerShell
    • Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager
    • Working familiarity with Server database software (SQL) 
    • Server and desktop Patch management
    • Desktop Operating systems, Windows 7, 10, some familiarity with open source
