    BPL seeks an energetic, creative, motivated and dedicated development professional for the full-time position of Manager of Individual Giving & Campaigns.  Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving and part of a 11-person highly collegial development team, this position is responsible for growing revenue from donors who give up to $1,000 per year. The manager will oversee the strategy, execution and analytics for annual fund campaigns that identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors. The manager will also provide support for individual donors through membership programs, other digital channels and in-person engagement to maximize donor participation and value.

    Responsibilities

    Campaigns

    • Develop and execute strategy to increase revenue from donors who give up to $1,000 annually
    • Project manage fundraising campaigns including the year-end Annual Appeal, spring Support the Branches campaign, and other campaigns throughout the year:
      • Ensure smooth execution of all direct mail and online elements of campaigns in coordination with fundraising consultants, Individual Giving team and BPL’s Marketing & Communications department
      • Pull and segment donor and prospect lists from Raiser’s Edge; manage email database as it relates to donors; support data hygiene; prepare donor data updates to Salesforce Marketing Cloud
      • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications department on collateral design, digital implementation, website and social media integration
      • Work with in-house web developers to optimize and update online transaction pages
      • Draft individual acknowledgment letter templates and personalized letters
    • Design and implement strategy to increase revenue and participation from monthly donors
    • Build select donor mass emails in Salesforce Marketing Cloud

    Cultivation and Stewardship

    • Support individual donor cultivation and stewardship efforts through personal outreach, including calls, correspondence, select acknowledgements, in-person meetings and eventsCoordinate Development content for print donor newsletter
    • Identify cross promotion opportunities within Development, with other Library departments, branches and outside partners
    • In collaboration with Manager of Patron Programs, support renewal processes for the Brooklyn Eagles, Whitman Circle and other future membership programs
    • Stay up-to-date on Library programs and initiatives

    Reporting/ Analysis

    • Perform regular campaign revenue reporting and performance analysis using Raisers Edge
    • Prepare formal campaign reports with key findings and analysis for Director of Individual Giving and trustee Development and Marketing Committee
    • Support email optimization strategies to improve metrics like delivery, open, and click-through rates
    • Stay up to date on industry trends, benchmarks and identify new opportunities for BPL
    • Identify prospects for increased gifts

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in relevant development experience
    • Passion for Brooklyn Public Library’s mission and service to the community
    • Experience with online fundraising and direct mail campaigns and/or membership
    • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and oral communication skills
    • Strong project management and analytical skills
    • Highly organized with great attention to detail
    • Ability to effectively, diplomatically and professionally work with both internal and external stakeholders, including high level VIP's
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently to lead multiple projects simultaneously from concept through execution
    • Experience with Raiser’s Edge database and Raiser’s Edge NXT required and experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar email marketing platform desired. Familiarity with Google Analytics a plus
    • Creative, collaborative, and collegial with an entrepreneurial streak
    • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as necessary
