  • Overview

    Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) is seeking a Part-Time Procurement Clerk to provide assistance to the Fiance Department. Under supervision, performs clerical work of average difficulty in connection with keeping or reviewing procurement requests or records; receives and prepares purchase order requests, handles reconciling accounts and does related work as required. 


    • Perform up-date of Databases –Contract, Insurance
    • Process purchase requisitions –create purchase orders using Infor Lawson software
    • Make revisions to Purchase Orders through Requisition Center (RQC)
    • Assist with order specification and vendor selections
    • Reconcile Credit Card statement on a monthly basis (Amex)
    • File & distribute reconciled purchase card transaction reports
    • Process online only vendor transactions, ex. Reservations & Amazon
    • Liaison between Finance and other BPL departments for procurement purposes
    • Respond to inquiries form BPL departments and vendors
    • Document scanning and filing
    • Work independently on programs and projects
    • Perform other related duties as assigned by management


    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • At least one year of clerical experience preferred
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
    • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
    • Excellent customer service
    • Ability to convey a positive and professional image
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization skills

    Hours for this position are 15 hours/week

    Salary per hour: $17.00
