The Adult literacy and learning department is seeking integrated education and training IELCE teachers to teach contextualized intermediate/advanced level classes. The IELCE teacher will collaborate with vocational instructors to ensure participants are equipped with skills to pass one of the following certifications: Digital Literacy, ServSafe Restaurant Suite and/or Front Desk/Hospitality while improving their English speaking skills utilizing work-place and civics content. The goal is for learners to improve their English speaking skills while earning an industry recognized certification to secure a job/career in the workforce.
Please note that this is a part-time position, up to 12 hours a week. Pay rate is $40 per hour.
**This is a grant funded position through June 30th, 2025. Renewal are based on performance and program standards.

Fall Cycle: Sept - Dec
Winter Cycle: Jan - Mar

Class Schedule Varies:
Mornings - Mon/Wed/Fri 10am - 3pm, Evenings - Tue/Wed/Thur 4pm - 8pm Saturdays - 10am - 5pm
Classes will be in-person at a community library branch
Classes will be co-taught with a vocational instructor
Class schedule subject to change based on programming needs
3 types of IELCE classes:
*Instructors are to prepare participants to earn an industry recognized credential. After attending the 11-15 week classes, participants will be scheduled to take an in-person certification exam.
*Curriculum will be provided for all instructors to implement throughout the semester.
*Teachers must be able to co-teach with a vocational instructor and should be familiar teaching and using Google Classroom and Zoom.
