Overview

Brooklyn Public Library has an exciting internship opportunity for currently enrolled SUNY students! Interns will gain valuable, hands-on experience with the expert, behind-the-scenes teams who oversee library operations.

 

We invite you to apply to be a part of our exciting Summer 2025 Internship Program. Earn up to $22/hr working with teams such as Marketing, IT and Finance and learn how these professionals help BPL provide first-class library service to Brooklyn and beyond!

Internship Details

Eligibility: student currently enrolled at a participating SUNY campus

Dates: June 2 - August 8

Location: various departments at the Central Library (10 Grand Army Plaza)

Schedule: Interns may be scheduled to work up to 35 hours per week based on operational needs

Compensation: $22 an hour

 

Responsibilities

  • Learn how the department supports the work of the library
  • Work collaboratively as part of the team
  • Participate in projects and related tasks (i.e. writing, research, planning, reports, etc.)
  • Support team members across the department
  • Communicate with colleagues and other relevant stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Must be a student currently enrolled at a participating SUNY campus
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Motivated self-starter and team player
  • Experience with various computer applications (Microsoft 365, Google, etc.)
  • Interest in non-profits is a plus
