The Children's Librarian, under the overall supervision of the Branch Manager, works as part of the branch team and performs basic library work concentrating on service to children and their parents and caregivers.

Drawing on its unique collection of physical and digital primary source materials and artifacts, the Center for Brooklyn History (CBH) inspires discovery, advances research, and preserves the history and cultural heritage of Brooklyn’s diverse communities.
CBHhouses special collections and archives in the Othmer library on the second floor of its landmark building on Pierrepont Street in Brooklyn Heights. CBH connects visitors and researchers to over 33,000 books, 1,600 archival collections, 1,200 oral history interviews, 300,000 photographs, 2,000 maps, 8,000 artifacts, and 300 paintings that document the commercial, residential, community, and civic development of the borough.
The digital collections and access coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of managing CBH’s digital archives, ensuring they are accessible both internally and online, and representative of the overall mission.
The schedule is 35 hours per week and this position reports to the collections and public services assistant director.This position is hybrid, with in-office work a minimum of three days a week.
The Special Officer’s responsibilities is to oversee and provide a safe and secure environment for employees and customers The Special Officer will patrol the Library’s grounds to maintain order, preserve the peace and safeguard life and property against fire, vandalism, thefts, etc. Will enforce Library policy and procedure and assist in resolving critical situations peaceably.
It is also the responsibility of the Special Officer to inspect the bags and packages of employees and customers entering the building. Provide and recommend appropriate discipline for procedural violators.

The Circulation Manager - Kings Highway branch, working collaboratively with the Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a designated branch. The Circulation Manager serves as a liaison between the branch staff, BPL departments and administrators to provide quality library services to the entire community. The Circulation Manager will also evaluate, supervise and train staff as assigned.
The Brooklyn Public Library Adult Learning Program provides student centered adult literacy services throughout Brooklyn communities. We are seeking a part-time floater Case Manager to support the needs of HSE participants at various programming sites. The case manager will help ensure that our program participants are knowledgeable of free programs/ resources that will help alleviate any barriers to completing their educational goals.

At 352,000 square feet, and with over 700,000 catalogued items available across over 7 miles of shelving, the Central Library presents uniquely challenging and complex collections issues. Reporting to the Central Library Director and Assistant Director and working closely with the Director of Customer Experience, the Central Library Collections Manager is charged with managing special projects relating to Central Library’s collections and deck storage levels. These projects include: assisting Central librarians with conducting regularly scheduled weeding and as-needed inventory assignments; working on special collections projects, coordinating the shifting of collections to accommodate renovation projects; overseeing and providing quality control for librarian staff assigned to specific collections assignments; and consulting with Enterprise Applications and the Circulation Department to ensure that items and their metadata are properly handled during these projects.
This is a non-union, exempt position. The compensation range for this position is $72,000-75,000.

Established in 2008, the Dionne Mack-Harvin African American Heritage Center (AAHC) is a small space located in the Macon Library and contains material on African American history and culture as well as the "Taneya Gethers- Muhammad" children book collection. A landmark in the heart of a richly historic neighborhood Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, NY- Macon Library is primed to continue serving patrons for many years to come. Part of serving patrons, is to revitalize the AAHC by upgrading the materials collections as well as providing library patrons with programs and events that are culturally, academically and socially engaging.
The hours for this position is up to 19 hours a week and the hourly rate is $20 an hour.
Brooklyn Public Library Services for Older Adults is seeking applications for our Senior Assistant program. Senior Assistants are a part of the departmental team to provide quality public library service and identify community needs to the Older Adult community. Administrative tasks and day-to-day activities include data entry; filing; maintaining the materials collection, preparing and distributing promotional fliers; answering telephone calls; and preparing correspondences. This is a part-time position. The schedule for this position is 10-15 hours per week, compensated at $15.00 per hour.
