Civic Commons Associates are responsible for staffing the Reception Desk at the Civic Commons and assisting with the needs of its visitors and program tenants. As a new public service space within the Central Library, the attendant will ensure that visitors to the Civic Commons can easily find and access services for its offices, including: the Computer Center, IDNYC, Passport Services Center, and organizations with residencies in the partner office. The attendant will assist in the setup of Civic Commons events (including tabling services and onsite workshops), ensuring that visitors have a welcoming experience.

The Brooklyn Public Library Adult Learning Program (ESOL) is seeking a Program Assistant to assist program participants improve their English skills and earn an industry recognized credential in our Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education ESOL classes. In addition, support learners in-person and/or via Zoom, provide consistent and responsive feedback and support to classroom instructors and participants at one of BPL’s branches. Brooklyn Public Library Services for Older Adults is seeking applications for our part-time Senior Assistant program. Senior Assistants will provide quality programs for older adults at designated branches of the Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) and at senior sites throughout Brooklyn.    Under the direction of the Services for Older Adults Program Assistant, the Senior Assistant will assist in building meaningful social engagement to Brooklyn’s diverse 50 + audience. When health and safety protocols allow, Senior Assistants must be willing to travel to their assigned branch, senior sites, and be available to present programs on the assigned dates.  A two –four hour commitment is required for each session. Until health and safety protocols allow, Senior Assistants must be able to facilitate the programs virtually on Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, etc.

Reporting to BPL’s Energy Manager, the Energy Analyst will assist in reviewing and analyzing the agency’s energy use and benchmarking data.
