The Systems Manager is responsible for managing various systems databases on site at Brooklyn Public Library and in the cloud which include but no limited to Pharos (which runs in the the selfcheck kiosk) Raisers Edge, Salesforce and BKLYNSTAT via MS SQL Server. The manager will lead the charge in troubleshooting IT problems, administer computer system updates as well as install hardware and software for different departments. Is expected to be able to setup system databases and monitor them and is the second level support for all Raisers Edge issues. Must be able to work closely with and maintain collaborative relationships with Development and other department heads to determine their technology needs.
The Systems Administrator works as part of the I.T. team to administer the ILS and partner systems (Sierra, Bibliotheca and Pharos) for BPL. Under the supervision of the ILS Manager, the Systems Administrator is responsible for system set-up, configuration and maintenance with third party service providers such as Exela Technologies, Unique Management Services, PatronPoint and Collection HQ. ILS tasks including Holds processes, maintenance lists for materials, tracking of system statistics and overall system data integrity.
The Web Developer provides reliable, practical and creative Web Development capabilities for the Brooklyn Public Library. Particularly focusing on the advancement of the Drupal Content Management System by developing new modules, adding new modules, maintain existing modules, server, website and software. Develop web applications in the LAMP architecture (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP). Assist in the proactive mission of Information Technology to promote effective use of technology throughout organization.
