The Brooklyn Public Library Adult Learning Program (ESOL) is seeking a Program Assistant to assist program participants improve their English skills and earn an industry recognized credential in our Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education ESOL classes. In addition, support learners in-person and/or via Zoom, provide consistent and responsive feedback and support to classroom instructors and participants at one of BPL’s branches. They will be responsible for coaching and motivating participants, assisting learners with Google classroom, and other electronic tools. The Program Assistant, under the guidance of the ESOL coordinator, monitors, data entry and supports participant’s progress and work collaboratively with instructional staff to ensure program quality and goals are being met.

Brooklyn Public Library's Adult Learning Centers are seeking dedicated and skilled HSE instructors to prepare participants for the workforce, TASC exam, and the NEDP remotely via Zoom and Google Classroom. The HSE instructor will develop, revise, and evaluate curriculum to meet the needs of the participants. Virtual classroom instruction incorporates self-paced, computerized instruction, small group learning exercises, videos, and provides classroom instruction in a variety of fields at several levels.  The ability to develop lessons using extensive writing and reading practice in the content areas of science and social studies using CUNY's HSE curriculum. We are seeking someone who is passionate about making a difference in their community by developing adults to their fullest potential.

Brooklyn Public Library's Adult Learning Program is seeking an Adult Literacy Education (ALE) Fast Track Instructor who is a dedicated, experienced, and skilled HSE instructor to prepare participants for the workforce, TASC exam, and/or the NEDP in order to earn their HSE diploma.   All instructors are expected to be passionate instructors with good interpersonal skills committed to empowering adult learning participant to meet their needs. Classroom instruction incorporates self-paced, computerized synchronous instruction, small group learning exercises, videos, and provides classroom instruction in a variety of fields at specifically higher level TABE 5 & 6 and TASC prep. The ability to develop contextualized lessons using extensive writing and reading practice in the content areas of science, social studies, and math using a standardized curriculum for each program area. Will be responsible for coaching and motivating participants by engaging them in a hybrid virtual class and by assigning lessons using Google classroom, and other electronic tools. We are seeking someone who is passionate about making a difference in their community by developing adults to their fullest potential.   Seeking to hire the following: TASC writing only teacher - Thursdays 6P-9P TASC Reading/Social Studies teacher - Tuesdays 6P-9P   The Fast Track class would meet once a week for 3 hours synchronously and 2 hours via Google classroom. Instruction will be customized based on learner needs.

The Brooklyn Public Library Adult Learning Program is seeking Program Assistant to assist WIOA program participants earn their HSE diploma through one of the four pathways (TASC, Regents, NEDP, etc.). In addition, co-facilitate small group instruction in a mixed level classroom, provide consistent and responsive feedback and support to classroom instructors at one of BPL’s Adult Learning Center.  He/she will be responsible for coaching students, work collaboratively with instructional staff to ensure their needs are being met. The Program Assistant, under the guidance of the Adult Learning Center Literacy Advisor/Floater Literacy Advisor, monitors and supports participant’s progress and work collaboratively with instructional staff to ensure program quality and goals are being met.
