The Learning Center Site Manager, under the direct supervision of the Manager of Operations, Adult Learning Centers, is responsible for maintaining the quality of adult education services, leading the instructional and support team, the daily operations of the Adult Learning Center as well as the fostering and maintain a collaborative relationship within the Learning Center’s community. The Learning Center is a dynamic adult education facility that provides education and resources for adult new readers and writers, speakers of other languages, pre-HSE/HSE students and integrated training and education classes.

We are seeking a full-time floater Case Manager to support the needs of WIOA HSE participants within the Literacy Zone Welcome Center at the Eastern Parkway Library. The LZ case manager will help ensure that program participants are knowledgeable of free programs/ resources that will help alleviate any barriers to completing their educational goals. They will work collaboratively with theLZ Coordinator, WIOA HSE admin team and instructors to ensure participants’ needs are being met. This role will work closely and under the guidance of the Literacy Zone coordinator onsite.

BPL provide nearly 60,000 free programs a year with writers, thinkers, artists, and educators—from around the corner and around the world. And we give patrons millions of opportunities to enjoy one of life’s greatest satisfactions: the joy of a good book.   Brooklyn Public Library's Adult Learning Program is seeking part-time ESOL Instructors who are skilled and committed to providing high-quality ESOL instruction to Beginner level English Language Learners from varying demographic backgrounds.   Strong candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills, a passion for seeing others succeed, and a determination to facilitate learning through proven methods of instructional delivery.  Successful candidates will also have a healthy appreciation for the diversity of adult ESOL students, as well as be able to quickly establish strong rapport and trust.  Lastly, favorable candidates will demonstrate confidence with humlity, the ability to lead as well as follow, an eagerness to learn through both success and failure, and the capacity to work alone or within a team.     Beginner level ESOL classes will have students who range from NRS levels 1-3.  This will require the part-time ESOL Instructor be able to differentiate instruction so that all students succeed.  Student retention will be one of the main indicators of teacher performance, as well as pre- and post-assessments on the BEST Plus Test.   Beginner ESOL classes meet for six hours a week, with one paid hour prep time.

The mission of EYALP is to partner with young adults to cultivate literacy and numeracy foundations, move towards high school equivalency, and contextualize learning in growth industries – ranging from healthcare to hospitality and computer technology – to propel EYALP achievers towards satisfying and successful careers.    EYALP is seeking dedicated and skilled Math instructors to prepare participants to improve their overall numeracy skills and critical thinking skills. The instructor will help improve students’ analytical skills based on the TABE assessment and prepare them to successfully use those skills on the GED exam. In addition, the instructor will also work to ensure students are equipped to use math in the workforce and to improve their financial literacy. These courses are designed to be flexible to address the needs and expectations of the diverse community and participants we serve. The Math instructor should have the ability to develop lessons using extensive problem solving and analytics within the content areas of mathematics, science, and technology.The instructorshould also be able to integrate culturally responsive and trauma-informed instruction using different modalities with interactive small group learning activities, videos, and some non- traditional classroom curriculum. We are seeking someone who is passionate about making a difference in the community by supporting young adults to their fullest potential.
